Don’t let the pandemic keep you away from your GP about

A local Geelong doctor contacted me recently concerned about the fall in routine GP visits during this pandemic.

I told him I’d share this message here, because putting off a GP visit could let dangerous illnesses go undiagnosed.

Here’s the thing: GP clinics are completely safe to visit.

They’re undertaking additional cleaning, and they’re well trained in the use of personal protective equipment.

In addition to that, tele-health services are available through Medicare.

That means physically going to the clinic might not even be necessary.

We can’t allow this pandemic to mean other health issues go untreated.

That could bring a whole new risk, even after COVID-19 has subsided.

So I urge everyone to visit their GPs as normal.
